Gigabyte keeps on expanding its WindForce graphics cards line with new products based on Nvidia designs, the latest solutions to arrive in this range being the rev. 2.0 and 3.0 WindForce 2X GeForce GTX 560 Ti models, which feature an upgraded design when compared with their predecessor.

The changes concentrated on proving the cards with cleaner power, which is delivered thanks to the addition of a NEC Proadlizer capacitor, as well as on improving their cooling capabilities.

As a result, the new models feature a refreshed WindForce 2X cooler that now packs three copper heatpipes and an inclined fan design, that should decrease turbulence.

Despite these changes, however, Gigabyte has decided not to sell its two latest creations factory overclocked, which means that the GPUs as well as the memory are run at the default clock speeds recommended by Nvidia for the GTX 560 Ti.

Outside of these changes, the two WindForce 2X solutions feature the same specifications as their predecessor and sport 2-way SLI support, a pair of dual-link DVI ports and a mini HDMI video output.

Power is delivered via two 6-pin power connectors in the 2.0 model, while the 3.0 revision comes with both a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCI Express power plug, a configuration which can supply up to 225W of power to the graphics card.

Gigabyte's latest GTX 560 Ti creations have the part number GV-N560UD-1GI, and should become available shortly. Pricing hasn't been announced, but is expected to hover around the €190 mark.

The GTX 560 Ti is based on the Nvidia GF114 core and it packs 384 CUDA cores, 64 texturing units, 32 ROP units and a 256-bit wide memory interface that is usually linked to 1GB of GDDR5 video buffer.

The GPU operating frequency is set at 822MHz, while the memory runs at 1000MHz (4000GHz data rate). (via TCMagazine)
