There is no question that Gigabyte brought a sizable collection of products over to be perused at this year's Computex trade show, and it seems that yet another laptop has garnered attention.

The mobile PC market makes up a large chunk of the total PC industry right now, what with there being models and sizes for all purposes.

Granted, netbooks have been seeing a slowdown in terms of marketing performance, but the overall laptop sector shouldn't be that affected by tablets.

That said, it is a 14-inch notebook that caught the eye of the folks over at Engadget, not just for its mainstream specs but also for a less than ordinary asset.

To be more specific, the newcomer, dubbed M2432, has an expansion dock which gives it six USB 2.0 ports (in addition to its own), an extra HDMI connector, a DVI output and better graphics, courtesy of the NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 1 GB graphics card.

As for the notebook itself, it has a hardware configuration that revolves around the Intel Core i5-2410M, whose base clock speed is of 2.3 GHz, overclockable to 2.9 GHz via Turbo Boost.

4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) back up said processor, while the HD LCD (1,366 x 768 pixels resolution) is handled by the Intel HD Graphics 3000 (unless the dock is present at least).

Meanwhile, a hard disk drive with a platter rotary speed of 7,200 RPM (rotations per minute) brings 500 GB of storage space to the equation, while a DVD burner handles optical media.

Then again, should one not find much use for an ODD, they can just forgo the DVD burner in favor of an extra battery.

As for connectivity and I/O, the aforementioned HDMI and USB 2.0 are accompanied by a VGA connector, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, an eSATA/USB 2.0 combo, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 1.3 megapixel webcam, among other things.

Unfortunately, pricing and availability was not disclosed for this 1.8kg product loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.
