Although it's best-known for its advanced motherboards, graphics cards and portable computers, the truth of the matter is that Gigabyte is also actively involved in the field of computer peripherals, the latest product of this type they've come up with being the M7800E Wireless Laser Mouse. First and foremost, it's important to mention that mouse from Gigabyte comes with a very special coating, a “matte black” layer that, according to the Taiwanese manufacturer, has exactly the same color as the F22 stealth airplane.

As its name points out, the peripheral from Gigabyte doesn't require any wires in order to connect to a computer, instead relying on a 2.4GHz wireless interface (6 to 8 meters range), made possible by the USB nano receiver included in the sales package, which can be easily attached to a notebook or desktop computer and occupies a very small amount of space (measures just around 17.5 x 15 x 6 mm).

The M7800E Wireless Laser Mouse comes equipped with a laser tracking system, delivering not only an 800/1600 dpi adjustable resolution, but also a tracking speed of around 3000 frames per second.

The peripheral is fairly easy to carry around (measures 92 x 55.5 x 36.5 mm and weighs around 59 grams), and should work quite fine with just about every operating system out there, including Windows 98/2000/ME/XP 32bit Vista/Win7 32/64bit.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that the device works with 2 x AAA batteries, although Gigabyte doesn't really mention anything about what functioning life we should expect from the tiny power sources.

While the exact availability date doesn't provide any info on the availability, TCMagazine points out that, given its features, this thing shouldn't cost more than 15 Euro or so, which is quite an OK price point, all things considered.
