Coming to expand its existing series of booktop mobile computers, Gigabyte has issued a press release in which it details the T1125, nicknamed Der Kavalier, a convertible tablet bundled with a docking station.

This booktop is a sort of successor to the M1022, revealed in 2009, and the M1305, launched soon after the first and featuring a docking station with NVIDIA graphics.

They had screen sizes of 10.1 inches and 12.3 inches, respectively.

Now, this third booktop, the T1125, measures 11.6 inches and is based on an Intel Core i3/ULV processor.

The configuration includes DDR3 memory, a 2.5-inch “high-capacity SATA Hard Drive”, NVIDIA graphics and even the Optimus technology, which automatically switches between the integrated and discrete GPU.

There is also support for the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection standard, which means that even the most recent flash drives and other high-speed storage units will work at their best.

It also has, of course, a touchscreen that can swivel, thus allowing for switching between a notebook and a tablet form factor.

As for the docking station itself, it adds the benefit of a DVD-ROM drive and the possibility of using it as though it were a desktop while at home.

Finally, when it comes to the actual design, gigabyte went for an ultra-slim form factor with a brushed metal pattern.

“Perceiving growing consumer demand for mobile computing applications and the lack of integration between individual functions for similar mobile devices in the market, the RD team at GIGABYTE capitalized on its 20 years of professional experience and introduced T1125, the third- generation swivel 11.6” touch screen Booktop and the first of its kind in the industry that creatively combines the advantage of a tablet PC and docking technology in 2010,” states the official announcement.

Availability is slated for 20 November 2010, when its price will be of around $1,299. The exact specifications should also become absolutely clear by then.
