Gigabyte is also present at the CES 2014 in Las Vegas, showcasing its latest notebook models for everybody to see, but the company has also brought along its new AORUS 17-inch laptop.

MSI is working on a concept gaming laptop, but until that comes along, take a look at what this notebook is capable of. The AORUS has two GTX 765M GPUS in SLI, all crammed up in a thin 22.9 mm / 0.9 inch chassis.

Overall, the notebook weighs 2.9kg / 6.39lbs and while this is not the thinnest we have ever seen, it’s enough for Gigabyte to take a dip at the slim and relatively light gaming notebook market.

The AORUS can deliver an intense and immersive gaming experience, because it comes bundled with three digital video outputs (two HDMI outs and one mini DP) allowing users to connect three external screens to the device.

The backlit keyboard features five macro buttons that have a toggle switch on top, allowing access to 25 custom macros. The AORUS has a triple storage system made up by the 2 slot mSATA 128GB/256GB and 1 slot 2.5” HDD 500GB/750GB/1TB 5400rpm.

Other specifications include three USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, D-sub, surround port, SD card reader, microphone, 2 watt speakers, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. There’s also a 1.3MP webcam and the whole machine is being powered by a Li-Polymer 73.26Wh battery.

The AORUS features the Fan Control technology, a system capable of switching between different user scenarios (Auto, Stealth and Turbo) to provide the best experience and system stability.

Gamers can opt to add a gaming mouse, keyboard or headset as additional accessories. Pricing specifications for the AORUS are bit blurry at the moment, but the gaming notebook should surface somewhere in the next quarter or two.
