Gigabyte has recently launched on the market its new model from the Ultra Mobile PC series, the 7" M704. The new model
features, besides the 7" touch screen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard which offers comfort and utility for various operations, including writing e-mails or word processing.

The GIGABYTE M704 is powered by a VIA Esther ULV C7-M CPU running at 1.2GHz. It comes along with DDRII 768MB memory and features a hard disk that can be upgraded to a maximum capacity of 60GB. The operating system supported by the UMPC is Windows XP Home. The battery can stand up to four hours of operating time when it is fully charged. The M704 also features some built in components, including a 1.3 mega-pixel CMOS video camera and IEEE 802.11 b/g wireless network card.

This small machine seems to have it all for entertainment or work while on the go. The wireless features allow users to easily surf the net, receive and respond to e-mails, and even hold video conferences with the UMPC without minding where they are. The M704 proves to be an ideal solution for mobile personal use.

The exterior of M704 has been designed to inherit the same minimalistic and fashionable features as GIGABYTE U60. The touch screen can be used with diverse input methods and the number of options is significantly increased. Image capturing has been simplified to a friendly "Snapshot" function, while the versatility of the operating preferences has been enhanced with a "Touch Pad On/Off Button". M704 also features a "Mobility Center Button" which allows a number of tasks to be performed, including changing display resolutions and adjusting volume, eliminating the need to access the respective menus.

The GIGABYTE M704 features not only built-in components, but also comes with some optional peripherals. A digital television reception module allows users to receive DVB-T signals, while the GPS module becomes handy in some situations. A comprehensive output interface given by a dock provides users with ports for IEEE1394, USB, D-SUB, RJ-45 modem or speaker out.

The GIGABYTE M704 Ultra Mobile PC is already available on the market. More information on this, as well as the full specifications of the product can be found on Gigabyte's site.
