Gigabyte is always working on some new device, sometimes unveiling them without bothering to issue a press release, and this seems to be what has happened with the Pure Classic series of HDDs.

Among IT companies, there are those that focus on a single sort of component or device, while others test the reach of their multitasking.

Gigabyte is one of the latter company types, having a product portfolio that includes motherboards, graphics cards, storage devices, basically a lot of PC products.

Not long ago, it delivered something quite unusual in the GB-AEBN, which is, of all things, a barebone All-in-One.

Now, the same outfit seems to have completed the Pure Classic series of portable hard disk drive units, or, more specifically, the two series.

Measuring 120 x 81 x 14 mm, the Pure Classic HDDs are matte black-colored, portable storage solutions with capacities of 320 GB, 500 GB, 600 GB and 750 GB, respectively.

They communicate with host PCs via the USB 2.0 interface and their product page can be found here.

Meanwhile, the Pure Classic USB 3.0 is a fairly self-explanatory name. With their support for the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard, they can read and write data much more quickly than their counterparts, although they do retain the same storage options.

Those consumers interested in some extra speed need only drop by this page to see all available details on the HDDs.

All of them have the 2.5-inch, compact form factor and are bundled with a carrying bag, although there is no way of knowing just what prices they have.

Naturally, once online stores actually get around to listing them (which should be soon), this final bit of info will be public knowledge.

The Pure Classic and Pure Classic USB 3.0 are compatible with Windows ME/ 2000 /XP /VISTA /7, Linux 2.4.1.0 or above and Mac OS 9.x or above.
