Gigabyte has recently presented the new pre-overclocked and custom cooled AMD Radeon HD 7870 GV-R787OC-2GD Video Card, on its official website.
The card comes with 2GB of GDDR5 video memory on a 256-bit interface and is factory overclocked to a high 1100 MHz. That’s a very high overclock from the reference default of 1000 MHz.
The high frequency of the GPU is not the only thing special to the GV-R787OC-2GD. It also comes with a custom cooling system consisting of three fans with a 75 millimeters diameter.
The GPU is practically being cooled by two 8 millimeter heat-pipes that run through the heatsink along the entire length of the card.
The electrical components on the card are of very high quality, namely aluminum solid capacitors and ferrite core chokes and a two-phase power configuration for the memory.
The card also comes with one HDMI port, one DVI-I port and two Mini DisplayPort connectors.
The measurements are 42.4 mm in height by 280 mm in length with a width of 134 mm.
That’s 1.69” by 11” by 5.2” in imperial.
