Showing that it still has faith in the convertible tablet form factor, Gigabyte has created what it calls a Booktop, though, despite the fact that sales will start this month, a price is not yet available.

Like any IT company with multiple business outlets, Gigabyte has been playing more than one hand of cards lately.

Among other things, it presented a new video adapter, an Intel motherboard, a Windows-loaded Intel-based tablet, even a bunch of AMD A75-based platforms.

The full name of the product is T1125P Booktop and the listing does not specify what price it will bear once shipments commence on July 22, 2011.

The hardware details, on the other hand, are disclosed, showing an Intel Core i5-470UM processor whose clock speed is of 1.33 GHz.

This chip is supported by 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and, though it features an integrated graphics chip, is complemented by the significantly superior NVIDIA GeForce 410M graphics solution (1 GB of memory).

Of course, this means that the Optimus technology is present as well, so that the switch between the integrated and discrete GPUs might be done automatically and seamlessly, providing energy efficiency.

Meanwhile, storage space (500 GB) is provided by a hard disk drive, while the rotatable display has a diagonal of 11.6 inches.

Other specifications include Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a pair of subwoofers, an USB 3.0 connector, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 6-cell battery. Everything is run by Windows 7 Home Premium.

As for the design, beyond the ability to switch from a laptop to a tablet form factor, there aren't any unusual design elements or visual embellishments.
