Gigabyte has been pretty successful when it came to producing motherboards capable of good overclocking, at least when related to Core 2 Duo compatibility. DS3
series for one was quite a performer, reaching speeds of over 3.5GHz when using Conroe/Allendale CPUs. And believe me, 500+ FSB is no easy thing to do, especially for the MOSFETs and the cooling.

In an effort to continue with its success, Gigabyte launched their new 600i line of motherboards. The GA-N680SLI-DQ6 and GA-N650SLI-DS4 motherboards are the next contenders, both using the new 600i series chipset. The first uses 680i flavor and that translates into 3 PCI-E x16 slots and DDR2-1333, while the second uses 650i chipset, which is only 2 way SLI capable. According to the press release, the boards have been developed with the sole purpose of hard overclocking, while at the same time delivering the best gaming experience. Need fps?

At the same time, Gigabyte also launched 8800 GTX and GTS series being maybe the 4th producer which links the 2 products together. As for the price, it is currently unknown, but its safe to assume the 680i series will cost at least $250. The boards are set to come out in December.
