With Computex about to go out on a roll, it isn't surprising that companies are already streaming forth official releases, and Gigabyte started off with, among other things, a Booktop.

Since Computex is an IT trade show much like CES and CeBIT, IT companies from around the world are already there, showing off their newest and best products.

Gigabyte, of course, is present, and while its own portfolio has not been revealed to be as big as that of ASUS (for now anyway), the outfit definitely did not stay silent.

Given that the show has barely even gotten off its feet, it isn't strange that Gigabyte would choose to hold off on the bulk of its inventions.

Still, it figured it was as good a time as any for the Booktop M2432 14-inch notebook to grace the industry with its official presence.

Turns out that the laptop is based, as one would expect, on a second generation Intel Core series processor, meaning that the built-in Intel GMA HD 3000 graphics solution is present.

Then again, if one were to buy the docking station that Gigabyte made for it, they would get the NVIDIA GT 440 1GB DDR5 VRAM discrete card as well (plus D-sub, DVI and HDMI).

Either way, the newcomer has USB 3.0 connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, a DVD writer and THX TruStudio Pro audio, relayed through two speakers.

"The M2432 is an extraordinary choice for users who want to combine the mobility of a lightweight notebook with the power of a desktop PC," said Stephen Lee, Sales Director at Gigabyte Notebooks.

"The M2432 and its docking station continue Gigabyte’s spirit of innovation to deliver exciting new products that are transforming the PC industry."

All the components are packed inside a frame whose thickness is of 27.6mm and which has a total weight of 1.81 kilograms. Finally, the 14-inch display supports HD (1,366 x 768 pixels resolution).

No pricing or availability details were provided, but prospective users will be interested in knowing that both red and silver color options will be available.
