Only two days left until AMD is expected to officially release their next-generation Radeon graphics cards, but even so, users can already place their orders for one of these cards. Besides the three manufacturers that have already rushed to make public the specification list for their Radeon HD 4000-series cards, one online shop from Europe has even put a price tag on Gigabyte's version of the high-end HD 4870 GPU.

What is interesting is that on Gigabyte's official web site, you can only find the HD 4850 card and no high-end HD 4870 model. Still, the grafikkartenpower.de website gives out a general specification list for this 239 EUR card and even offers pictures of the product.

According to the featured spec list, the high-performance card provides a GPU speed of 750MHz and comes equipped with 512MB of GDDR5 memory running at 1800MHz on a 256-bit memory bus. The clock speed for the 800 available stream processors isn't specified and the site doesn't mention any game bundles.

If the price tag of the card is anywhere near its true value, then we can draw one conclusion: AMD will respond to NVIDIA's price cut strategy and is going to sell its high-end graphics card for roughly the same price as NVIDIA's GeForce 9800GTX+ card.

At this moment we cannot say for certain if the listed card is really one of Gigabyte's products or even if the featured price is really what this card is going to sell for. All we know for certain is that Gigabyte has listed its version of a Radeon HD 4850 card, which comes equipped with a standard single slot cooling system and is featured at $199.99 on the newegg shopping site. According to this website, the card is in stock and will arrive to users in 3 working days.
