Mel Gibson met Mexican President Vicente Fox yesterday.
After the talks, Gibson has donated $1 million to help the country recover from Hurricane Stan.
The actor is shooting "Apocalypto" in Mexico.
With more than 1500 people dead or missing, the country so hard hit by the hurricane could use the smallest help, never to mention the $1 million.
At the encounter with the President, Gibson wasn't wearing a tie. On the contrary, his beard was grown and he wore no socks.
Considering the facts that the film he's shooting takes place three thousand years ago in an ancient civilization and that he usually stars in the movies he directs, one can only smile and forgive.
So did the President Vicente Fox.
Mel Gibson's latest announced projects include "Warrior"(2006), "Under and Alone"(2006) and "Sam and George"(2007).
The Braveheart star is one of the hardest working fellows from Hollywood and one of the few actors whose directing skills level their acting talents.
Gibson once confessed: "I like directing much better. It's more fun, that's all there is to it. It's essentially the same job, which is storytelling, but you have more control over the way you want to tell the story. It's a high. I love it."
