Customers of Moby Dick Restaurant in Santa Barbara were enjoying their meals when they witnessed and filmed a scary incident on Saturday. Some giant waves came right through the windows and smashed them, flooding the eatery.

The restaurant is rather popular, having a great view of the ocean, so there were quite a few clients inside during the incident caused by the winter storm.

The windows gave in under the force of the swell, but luckily no serious injuries have been reported.

“The dining room was filled with the sound of glass shattering and people screaming as a wave of water rushed over the dining room carpet,” said eyewitness Forrest Buchanan, according to Yahoo News.

Buchanan also stated that people got scared and began screaming as the wave rushed over the tables and the room's carpet. All customers and personnel members were quickly evacuated.

The beachside restaurant closed Saturday but reopened the following day. A manager at the restaurant said they never experienced something like this before.

Moby Dick restaurant was not the only establishment affected by the winter storm. At Beachside Bar-Cafe on the Goleta Pier, an employee was swept out into the ocean, but fortunately he managed to get out of the water, while at the northern part of Monterey Bay, water broke through the foundation of a seaside home.
