Sony keeps coming with good news. Their latest: they announced the company's new Reader Digital Book. The first info on the device was leaked last month, when it was rumored about its capabilities, price tag, but no availability detail.

This time, ladies and gentlemen, Sony pops out the PRS-505 version of the Reader, prouder than ever before. The reader will hit the market this month. According to Yahoo! Tech blog, the giant company has made the official announcement
on Tuesday, when they also said the Reader was going to hit the US market this month, at Sony Style Web site, as well as Borders Inc. book stores. Sadly, they also said that Sony's spokesman was unable to provide him with the precise date of the launch.

And if you're wondering what you will get for the US300 bucks price tag, you have to know you'll receive a cool branded paperback book-sized Reader. In addition, to make sure the device will suit a lot of tastes, they made it silver and dark blue. The best news concerns the Reader's internal storage capacity, which is said to hold up to 160 books.

And believe me, it gets even better, as Sony offers credit to 100 classic books, including some Shakespeare and Jane Austen, on both Connect and eBooks stores set up by Sony itself. The site allows access to 20.000 eBooks, among which the latest edition of some top authors. Ain't that cool?

The major improvements of the book Reader include a boosted memory storage space, as well as a better rated battery life that is said to hold up to 7.500 page views. But they also add some new cool controls. Amazingly, they even managed to redesign the new controls to mimic page turning. In addition, there is also USB compatibility, meaning you'll load just about anything you want from your own PC. The brand new Reader includes some slots for both Memory Stick Duo and SD cards.

Better management of the folders is also going to be possible, using the auto-sync new option, which allows the users to create new folders on their PCs, for a better synchronization with the Reader. Thanks, Yahoo!Tech blog, for the extra tips, and Sony for making this finally official!
