Residents in Guangzhou, China witnessed something spectacular this week, as construction work was being performed for the city's new subway line.

Sinkholes were opened up across town, literally swallowing up entire buildings. An entire apartment complex simply fell apart as it sank in the ground. The incident was captured on video, and you can see exactly how deep the sinkhole is about halfway in the clip.

Digital Journal indicates that the building featured here was located in close proximity to the construction site for the new subway system.

300 people have been evacuated from the area, so I can assume that city engineers expected the facility to fall to pieces. Many people are standing outside of it, watching as it dissolves into the ground in instants.
