A baby born in Bristol is breaking records, weighing 15lbs 7oz (7kg) at birth. George King, one of the largest, heaviest babies ever to be delivered in the UK, was born on February 11 to parents Jade and Ryan.

Baby George almost didn't make it, having to be transported from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to St Michael's Hospital in Bristol and being administered CPR for 20 minutes, during which time he was not breathing.

21-year-old Jade Packer was in labor for what was probably an extremely painful 16 hours, This is Bristol writes.

While George beat 10 percent survival odds, his mother described that she never thought pregnancy would be this consuming, once noticing the unusual development of the fetus.

"It was a massive shock for everyone – no one had any idea he would be this big. [...] During the pregnancy I was just getting bigger and bigger," she says.
