The Italian footballers could not enjoy too much their success over the Australian team at the World Cup. At least that's what happened with the Juventus' ones. A few hours ago, Marcello Lippi's players found out terrible news. Gianluca Pessotto, the ex-Juventus player and current manager of the Italian club, fell off the last floor of the Juventus headquarters in Turin. After he jumped - or fell - the footballer was found between two vehicles parked in front of the building.

The
doctors took him to the emergency room right away and, after the latest information, everything seems ok. Still, considering the fact that he has suffered multiple fractures - some of them being very serious - on his back, we could say that things are far from being ok. Actually, despite the doctors' verdict, the "Gazzetta dello Sport" journalists stated that the footballer's life is still in danger and he might not make it after all.

More alarming is the fact that, after hearing the witnesses of the whole thing - before the ambulance came and picked him up - Pessotto seems to have wanted to commit suicide. He was found holding a crucifix in his hand. The Italian footballers received the news as a total blow, especially since most of the guys played with him a few years ago. The most affected player of all was Fabio Cannavaro, who stepped out of his press conference and excused himself as soon as he found out the news. He went straight to his team locker-room.

After Cannavaro, Del Piero, Buffon and Zambrotta received the news with a lot of sadness. Pessotto visited the Italian squad less than a week ago, when he cheered for his favorites in the Italy - Czech Republic match in the group stages. Juventus' marketing director, Romy Gai, said that: "We don't know how things happened exactly, but we're getting to that right away. It' just unbelievable what happened to him".
