Mini-ITX motherboards are usually meant for HTPCs and nettops, but Giada has revealed one that works best in network-attached storage devices.

Called GIADA N70E-DR, it measures 17 x 17 cm (6.7 x 6.7 inches) and has a chipset with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 HDD/SSD hardware configurations.

The presence of six SATA interfaces is noteworthy because mini-ITX formats usually have just two.

Then again, the extensive RAID options would have no meaning with so few.

2 USB 3.0 ports are available too, along with the Celeron C1007U CPU, two ethernet connectors and standard I/O, plus a TPM and CPU overheating alarm, plus the abnormal power state alarm, among other things.

Furthermore, for long-term stability, Giada used Power PAK MOSFETs and high-quality solid capacitors (totally enclosed with nickel core inductors).

Intelligent hardware monitoring and management capabilities are included as well (TDP is 17W).
