Ghostbusters - The Game is one of the most anticipated titles in 2008 and, finally, things are starting to look a bit better for the fans who are eagerly anticipating some new information regarding it: you can all check the official website that has just been launched and take a look. However, it can't yet be called a full website since it basically hosts the same things we already know, but at least it's a place to start and we can consider it a confirmation of the fact that the game development is going as planed, since the release date remains "fall 2008" (and, hopefully, this will not change).

Some of the great things we should note regarding the next-gen iteration of the Hollywood series are the multi-multi-format release (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PC, Wii and DS), the game plot that has been penned by the original creators and the fact that all the original cast of the Ghostbusters team is present (this means, probably, that we'll actually get to hear Bill Murray!).

The story is the same you know from the movies: Manhattan is overrun by ghosts and other supernatural creatures and it's your job to join the Ghostbusters' team and, equipped with a wide variety of gadgets and weapons, hunt, fight and capture the creatures in a funny, yet frightening battle to save New York City.

Since having been announced in November last year, information regarding the title has been pretty scarce and people are divided in two sides: those who are sure we'll have a great game and experience and those who are afraid of a poor quality release, similar to the past failed attempts to create a Ghostbusters game. However, Martin Tremblay, Sierra President, assured the fans that they'll get exactly what they're expecting, "Our collaboration alongside Terminal Reality and Red Fly Studios also includes working closely with the team at Sony Pictures Consumer Products. Together we will create the ultimate Ghostbusters experience, full of the characters, ghosts and other paranormal creatures so many have come to adore over the years."
