Media Molecule has announced that the PlayStation Network update set for this Thursday should bring four new downloadable content costumes for LittleBigPLanet, all of them Ghostbusters-themed, celebrating the release of the videogame based upon the two movies released during the '80s. If players pick up all the four characters, Slimer, Stay Puft, No Ghosts and Ghostbuster, they can get them for 5.99 dollars, while each individual costume can be obtained for 1.99.

Media Molecule, even while admitting that it is working on a sequel, is still delivering new stuff for LittleBigPlanet, a game which, with its floaty platform mechanics and powerful level editor, has managed to be a sleeper hit on the PlayStation 3 from Sony. It has become a habit for the development outfit to celebrate all important events and big game releases with a Sack Boy costume that can be used in the game.

LittleBigPlanet makes it very easy for players to mix and match bits of content in order to create their own platforming levels and players have been quick to use the videogame to create content based on well-known intellectual properties, like Space Invaders and Mario. Sony and LittleBigPlanet have clamped down on those creations that could be deemed to infringe on copyright.

At the last minute, right before the Ghostbusters videogame was released in North America, Sony entered into an exclusive agreement allowing the publisher to have the exclusive rights to publish the game on the PlayStation 3 in Europe.

This has translated into a delay of the release date outside of North America, which has annoyed gamers, but at least some of them might get a boost of love for Sony after seeing the Sack Boy costumes that were probably a direct result of the exclusivity deal.
