Brian Taylor, who is one of the co-directors of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, seems to have been linked to the effort by Sony to create a live action movie based on the Twisted Metal franchise.

Sony Pictures is reported to be ready to pay a seven-figure amount in order to get the director on board while Avi Arad, one of the producers behind the success of Spider-Man, has also signed on.

The movie is in the initial stages of development and it seems that the script has not yet been finalized, although rumors suggest that Sweet Tooth and Doll Face are set to feature prominently.

The rebooted Twisted Metal is now out on the United States market for the PlayStation 3 and gamers in Europe will get it during the coming month.

Sony created a number of live action shorts to promote the game, but it is not clear whether a full movie based on the franchise will attract movie goers.
