Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has managed to spend yet another week at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart, its third, and might continue to perform well considering that there are no big launches to challenge it for some time to come.

The new Ghost Recon video game has disappointed some long-term fans of the franchise because the experience is much more focused towards action, but Future Soldier has managed to deliver a number of gameplay improvements that have attracted a wide audience.

Second place in the United Kingdom chart has gone to Max Payne 3, the third-person shooter from Rockstar, which has the same position that it also occupied during the previous week, and the similarities continue with FIFA 12, the EA Sports football simulation, which is linked to the last position in the top three.

Battlefield 3, the first-person shooter from developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts, has managed to jump up significantly in order to reach fourth coming from eight, with the upward mobility most likely linked to the introduction of the new Premium service and the extra content that gamers will get access to.

Sniper Elite C2, from 505 Games, has captured fifth position in the video game chart just as the first new entry for the week lands in sixth as Game of Thrones, from Focus Home Interactive, manages to capitalize on the success of the television show from HBO, which has just ended its second full season.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the game from Activision and Infinity Ward, is in seventh place with FIFA Street in eight, up one place when compared to last week.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is in ninth for the week, coming back from 11, while DiRT Showdown, the racing title from Codemasters, closes down the United Kingdom top ten.
