GhostBSD, a FreeBSD-based operating system with the GNOME desktop environment, is now at version 2.5 RC3.

This is the third Release Candidate for Ghost BSD 2.5 and it is based on FreeBSD 9.0 RC3. There are a small number of known problems, such as Brasero on amd64 architecture still closes itself for normal users when adding data, amd64 live session GDM doesn't show a proper message on boot, and LXDE has a few glitches that need fixing.

Highlights of GhosBSD 2.5 RC3:

· CUPS should be working with most printers now; · Users are now allowed to choose their language for the GNOME session, through GDM. The log-in credentials for GNOME session are: ghostbsd password: ghostbsd (this is a temporary solution); · proper options to shutdown and reboot via the menu have been implemented into the live session; · Mounting problems during setup on GNOME have been fixed; · LXDE USB image and CD image are available for download; · mkisofs was used instead of  makefs to build images.
