As the mystery surrounding the causes that led to the death of the 20-year-old son of the former 'Playboy' playmate deepens, Getty Images is looking for potential buyers for some pictures presumably taken only hours before he passed away.
Daniel Smith died last month, while he was standing by his mother's side, in a Bahamas hospital, where she had given birth to a baby girl. Unofficial reports from the private clinic state that, only hours before Daniel was found dead in a chair, he was seen vomiting uncontrollably, which led to speculations that he might have consumed a too big a quantity of drugs.
The coroner in charge of the autopsy, classified the demise as 'unnatural', but refused to make any further comments on it. She said that they were waiting for the toxicology test, to see whether Daniel had been doing drugs or not, which would come out some time next week.
While the grieving mother is said to be recuperating from the tragic loss of her son, Getty Image is rumored to have gotten hold of 17 photographs, which show Anna Nicole, Daniel, the baby girl and Anna's best friend and all-time lawyer, Howard Stern (the alleged third person in the room when Daniel passed away).
Getty sent offers to all celebrity weekly editors, asking no less than $200,000 for them. Representatives from the agency even sent preview images to the editors, just to prove that it was not a case of fabricated photographs. They show Anna and Daniel in the hospital bed, with the smiling baby girl in Daniel's arms, Daniel standing up and cradling the baby and Anna Nicole with the baby, under Howard's watchful eye.
But Getty is not looking to make money off of Anna Nicole's tragedy, the representatives said. And, in order to clear up all potential misunderstandings, the preview photos are accompanied by a disclaimer, stipulating that 'NO NEGATIVE PRESS' is to be attached to them. And, as we are in the 'rumor' zone, another one says that the magazine 'Life & Style' has already placed an offer of $375,000 for the lot of 17 pictures.
