14 DAY TRIAL // Getac has just refreshed its popular line of B300 ultra rugged notebooks, jumping in the fourth-gen Intel core processors bandwagon as well.
Customers looking for a roughed and powerful machine have the option of choosing what to pack under the bonnet – a fourth-gen Intel Core i5-4300 processor or an i7-4600M one. Additional upgrades and improvements will be found in the wireless communication and graphics department. With the update, Getac has packed the new Intel HD 4600 graphics, complete with support for DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.0
The revamped with 5th-gen Getac B300 is thus capable of supporting critical applications used by professionals activating in dangerous fields like law enforcement, government, military or security. Its body is made of magnesium alloy and is designed to withstand the most hardened conditions.
The B300 features a 13.3-inch XGA display that can be used even in extreme lighting conditions thanks to its 700-nit backlight. An optional display is also available to customers who want to increase visibility to 1400 nits. More than that, a night-vision mode sensor can be implemented with the machine, to provide optimal working conditions even in darkened conditions.
Getac President Jim Rimay said a few words about the laptop explaining that “Our B300 is an industry leader for its performance, long battery life and 5-bumper-to-bumper warranty, and now with the new Haswell platform, we’ve set the bar even higher.”

And indeed in such conditions, long battery life might prove to be of vital necessity. Getac claims that juice running through the machine can be extended to 30 hours with a second battery pack.
