When you think of a roughed laptop, you probably envision a bulky device with even chunkier accessories. But Getac, a company known for manufacturing rugged gear, is planning to challenge the traditional dogma of the rugged apparel.

The company has introduced today a new convertible, the V110, claimed to be the “thinnest and lightest fully rugged convertible ever built.” The device is only 1.3 inches / 3.3 cm thick and weights a little over 4 pounds / 1.8 kg and can easily switch between laptop mode and tablet mode due to its versatile hinge system.

Built for durability the 11.6-inch device features a waterproof membrane and comes sporting a backlit keyboard with island-style independent keys.

The F110 tablet carries on the compact design trend. Despite of being no more than 3 pounds / 1.3 kg and 1 inch / 2.54 cm thick, the F110 is a fully rugged tablet.

Getac has packed the latest Intel Haswell architecture within both models, the Intel Core i5-4300U or the i7-4600U processors. In terms of graphics the offer is pretty amazing as well, as the manufacturing company has added HD 4400 graphics that will allow 2D or 3D rendering programs to run smoothly.

Getac bundles with the models 4G LTE options, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, so professionals working in the field, will have everything they need to complete their jobs.

Customers can grab the V110 starting off with this December, while the F110 will become available from November.
