Cloud Media has just released firmware version 05-03-130923-23-POP-421-000 for the Popcorn Hour A-300 media player. This 96 MB update comes with numerous fixes and additions.

This version now allows users to uninstall NMT app, adds .home package support for Skinning and updates translations. It also fixes some of the file browser's issues, like the inability to access MAC shared folder or NMJ.

To install, extract the contents of the archive to a FAT32 formatted flash drive. Insert the USB stick in the media player port and go to “Setup,” then “Maintenance.”

From there, select “Firmware Update” and then make the device look for the a300-update.bin file by selecting the “Check For Firmware Update” button.

The installation will start if the named file is on the USB stick. Be patient throughout the whole process and restart the media player when it completes.
