COWON, the Korean manufacturer I've talked about in several earlier posts, has launched a new firmware version for its AW1 Auto Capsule. Before I get to the fixes or improvements, one must be aware of the data loss risks.

The firmware update will erase all data on the device (not the memory card) so back up every important data before the installation.

Version 1.6.0 adjusts conditions against high temperature, deletes Voice Guide for time synchronization and the sound effects for video out cable connection/ disconnection, and fixes various other bugs as well.

A new addition is the wireless firmware update feature. This requires the latest version of Smart Manager.

If you're not familiar with this device, the COWON AW1 is a dash-camera to put inside your car. It will record your trips in 1920×1080p full HD resolution and will transfer them to your phone of other wireless device.

Below is the link to the firmware. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
