Get the Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero Look While Staying Warm

Some of us (yours truly included) have been some pretty hardcore fans of the Mortal Kombat series of video games and movies, and those of you who fall in this category will certainly have to admit that the device we'll talk about as follows, namely the Subzero Warm Breath Mask does have a serious resemblance to the mask worn by one of the most famous characters in the entire franchise, the ninja Sub-Zero (either that or Star Wars' Darth Vader).

The Subzero Warm Breath Mask is on sale at Hammacher Schlemmer and is touted as being the fleece mask preferred by high-altitude mountaineers and Antarctic scientists because it humidifies and warms winter air for comfortable breathing.

The mask comes equipped with a special ventilation chamber that lets wearers inhale full, unhindered breaths while trapping a small amount of heated, humid exhalation.

The result of this process is a comfortable, fully oxygenated "microclimate" inside the mask with up to 80 percent humidity and temperatures 40° F to 60° F warmer than outside air, which can prove to be an absolute life-saver when the person wearing the mask is subjected to extremely low temperatures.

Moreover, the medical-grade, microbe-resistant polyurethane in the chamber bonds with the humidity in the air, keeping moisture off the face and preventing fog on glasses and goggles.

The mask itself is breathable, wind-resistant Polartec fleece, with hook-and-loop flaps shaped to fit comfortably over goggles and helmets.

Plus, you won't have to worry about whether this thing will fit you or not, since it's available in a one size fits all version (2 1/2 oz.), pricing being set somewhere in the vicinity of 60 US dollars, which makes it fairly affordable, whether you're looking for something that will genuinely protect you against the cold or simply want to get that Sub-Zero look we've mentioned earlier.
