14 DAY TRIAL // Biostar has recently released the drivers list for its Hi-Fi A88W 3D Ver. 5.x motherboard. On the list, you can find AMD drivers for the chipset, SATA RAID and SATA AHCI, as well as for Realtek's LAN and audio chips. Also, there are drivers to support the ITE CIR.
The operating systems supported by these releases include Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 on both 32- and 64-bit architectures.
This motherboard uses AMD's A88X chipset and supports the A10, A8, A6, A4, E2 and Athlon II X4 CPUs from the same manufacturer. There are four DDR3 DIMM memory slots capable of taking up to 64 GB of RAM.
One of the reasons Biostar included “Hi-Fi” in the product name is its audio capabilities. It is based on the Realtek ALC892 8-Channel Blu-ray audio codec. From here, Biostar works its magic and brings a series of impressive features such as Hi-Fi AMP 3D, Smart Ear 3D, Hi-Fi Pre AMP, 3D Sound Fields and many more.
It is said that this motherboard has a sampling rate of 192kHz/24-bit and, therefore, is capable of delivering high quality audio through an analog connection.
