Martin Scorsese mentioned at some point last year that he didn't feel like he had too many movies left in him and that he was thinking about retiring. After seeing the “Wolf of Wallstreet,” many people wished that he didn't. Seeing this trailer for his latest project “Revenge of the Green Dragons” manages to only emphasize that regret.

The movie tells the story of a police investigation in New York City in 1989, which finally leads to the famous uprising of the Green Dragons gang. Actors such as Ray Liotta, Harry Shum Jr. and Justin Chon appear in the title roles.

“Revenge of the Green Dragons” is produced by Scorsese and directed by Andrew Loo and Andrew Lau. Loo also directed “Infernal Affairs” which was later remade by Scorsese as “The Departed.” The basis for the script is Fredric Dannen's article in The New Yorker, in which he recounted the Asian-American gang life style in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

The main characters in the film are two immigrant brothers who join the Green Dragons gang in Chinatown and quickly rise up in the ranks, which earns them unwanted attention. After a sad love affair pits the brothers one against the other, one of them will eventually turn to battle the very gang that made him a criminal.

The film is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival at the end of August this year and will then be headed for a limited release in October.
