Meet Kelly Clarkson in Person with Shazam for iPhone

Shazam for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad now offers users unlimited free tagging, the developers announced this week. The move aims to give Shazamers more opportunities to discover and engage with their content, as well as to enter a promotion to win cash and Meet Kelly Clarkson.

Featured in Apple promo materials on numerous occasions, Shazam provides users with an opportunity to engage with their favorite music and videos in a deep manner.

For instance, broadcast and cable networks have learned to embrace the service and now offer exclusive content to the community through the Shazam mobile apps.

The iOS version now features unlimited tagging.

Andrew Fisher, Shazam CEO said, “Shazamers already identify over 1 billion songs each year and go on to purchase over $100 million in digital music via our service.”

“Now, with no limits, people can Shazam even more songs they don’t know – or they already know - to conveniently purchase them, see the lyrics, watch the official music video, share on Facebook, Twitter or email, get recommendations and purchase concert tickets instantly. Unlimited free access means people can use Shazam even more as part of their daily lives,” added Fisher.

The CEO confirmed in a press release that this move was decided upon “due to the increasing maturity of mobile advertising and the strength of Apple’s iOS ecosystem.”

“Because of these essential improvements, we can make this fundamental change to unlimited usage in our free App,” said Fisher.

Shazam is also announcing a special Golden Tag promotion ‘Shazam to Win $25,000 and Meet Kelly Clarkson’ sweepstakes. The cash translates into about 18,500 in Euros.

Users have a chance to win the cash prize and also meet Kelly. All they need to do is Shazam songs.

Encore, the premium version of Shazam, will continue to offer subscribers the exclusive features they’ve grown accustomed to, such as LyricPlay (view lyrics as they play in time to music) and, of course, no ads.
