There are a whole lot of people around the world who simply have way too much money for their own good and nothing expensive and cool enough to spend it on. However, since it would seem that this particular social segment has increased over the past few years (nouveaux riche or "new money", in particular), there are a whole lot of companies out there offering all sorts of more or less tasteful,
yet extremely expensive electronic products that have been "pimped up" or "jeweled up" in order to provide the glitter (read kitsch) the aforementioned category of customers is looking for.

And one such company is Opulent Items (well, the name says it all, doesn't it?), who's presenting a family of ruby-encrusted HDTVs that will cost the would-be customers no less than 85,000 US dollars a pop.

According to the vendor, the luxury TV sets are supposed to be ruby-encrusted in Italy and then shipped on a per-order basis. They're available in 32-inch, 40-inch and 46-inch flavors, with the 40 incher featuring no less than 155 fine red rubies, exhibited in three sizes in order to create a starry effect. Out of the respective 155 stones, 12 are 0.32ct, 21 are 0.15ct and 122 are 0.10ct. Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't provide any kind of information regarding the nature or manufacturer of the HDTV sets themselves, stating only that they're "HD flat panels".

However, since these things are made-to-order, the people who would actually pay the aforementioned amount for such a device will have to wait for around 12 weeks until their product is ready. Nevertheless, they are offered a customization options, which means that they can throw in as many or as few stones as they want, according to the sum of money they're actually willing to spend on this rather useless (and plain silly, if you ask me) piece of ....Crazy Red-Adorned Panacea (read between the lines).
