Midway has announced that it plans to release two games in the near future, a Nintendo Wii title called Game Party 2 and a Nintendo DS one called TouchMaster 2.

Game Party is the most interesting of the two titles. Even if released quite recently, only reaching European markets in February, the first game in the series has sold very well and Midway decided a sequel would be appropriate. The Nintendo Wii is a platform well suited to casual games which require little time to learn and can be played by more than two people. So, Game Party 2 aims to bring back the most interesting games from the original title, like Skill Ball, Darts and Hoop Shot; it also adds new ones, such as Bean Bags, Horseshoes, Lawn Darts, and Puck Bowling. Tournament play and four player mode are back from the original release, while the new title also lets players customize their in-game characters.

TouchMaster 2 is set to greatly expand the scope of the experience it provides, by delivering more than 20 new mini-games. There are mainly card games, but also strategy, puzzle, action and picture games to be played. You will still control most of the action by accessing the touchscreen, using mainly the same set of moves that were found in the first release.

Mona Hamilton, who is the vice president of marketing at Midway Home Entertainment, stated that "Following the great success of the first installments, Game Party 2 and TouchMaster 2 are guaranteed to provide hours of entertainment, whether alone or in a group, for people of all ages. Casual game fans enjoyed the intuitive style of the originals, which have now been expanded and enhanced but still maintain that pick-up-and-play feel".
