Duke Nukem Forever is probably the most delayed and long awaited game ever. Probably many of you are too young to know what Duke Nukem is, as the first title in the franchise was released back in 1991.

If you are interested in purchasing Duke Nukem Forever, you have to go to Best Buy's website and place your pre-order. You will get it on January the 2nd of 2007 if you cough-up US$ 59.99. Once you place your pre-order, you'll get a free gift box offer, free shipping and according to Best Buy, you'll also save US$ 10.

I guess that this listing is bogus, given the fact that Take 2-the games publisher- and 3D Realms-its developer, haven't announced an official release date so far. Probably, many of you are thinking that Duke Nukem Forever will never come out, taking into account the fact that it was announced way back in 1997.

At first, the games' developer announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be powered by the Quake II engine, but a year later, changed the powering engine from Quake II to Unreal Engine. As regarding the psychics engine, 3D Realms revealed that the first psychics engine meant for the game, Karma, was replaced by one designed by Swedish developer Meqon.

The first Duke Nukem game in 1991 was followed by Duke Nukem II in 1993 and finally, the last playable Duke Nukem title, Duke Nukem 3D was released in 1996. They have promised another one, and despite Best Buy's listing, the official release date for Duke Nukem Forever is "when it's done". It is refreshing to see that big game developers have a "good" sense of humor.
