This'll help you break out of your addiction, no problem

If you thought it was shocking that people can actually become addicted to social networking, you'll probably be less amazed to know that it's actually possible to escape the addiction.

The method is even more shocking than the addiction itself though. Literally.

Long story short, two people worried about their tendency to stay on Facebook (and put off dealing with meaningless things like work, friends and family), decided to set themselves up for treatment.

What they did? They Created the Pavlov Poke gadget, which sits under the user's wrist and monitors what websites are visited.

If Facebook keeps distracting you, you'll get a shock; spending too much time on forums will result in the same electric shock.

We'd say “buy it now, and never worry about forgetting to leave Facebook again” but, sadly, Ph.D students Robert R. Morris and Dan McDuff at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology don't plan to sell it.
