505 Games has announced its future truck
driving simulation game, Rig 'n' Roll, scheduled for an exclusive
PC release this September.
The game is developed by SoftLab-NSK and will be first released in Europe. But don't worry, all the action takes place in the US, so you will get the chance to live the American dream.
It is the year 2024, California, and things are a little different now. There's no gold rush - not even an oil or uranium rush - people have other goals. For example, the very funny battle to become the number one in the huge cargo transportation market of California. At least, these are your dreams and, in order to fulfill them, you'll have to drive over miles of highways, to explore different cities and towns and beat the hell out of those who want, just like you, to become the best.
If things don't seem too exciting just yet, you should know that, basically, Rig 'n' Roll is the sequel to the Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel, but this time the game world is a true-to-life one. So, trucker wannabes will have the opportunity to ride high powered rigs along thousand of miles of real Californian roads visiting all the places from San Jose to Los Angeles. And maybe the developers will be kind enough to insert a travel route straight to Las Vegas, available after you become number one. Because somebody has to spent all the earned money, right?
To be more specific, players will have to outrun the opponents and deliver the cargo on time, take part in truck races to improve the rating and authority and, finally, take part in the Californian truckers' championship to become the Champion of California. Pretty easy, eh? Well.. just wait and you'll see - sometime during this September.
