Sprint just announced the release of a brand new version of the popular LG Rumor, which now comes in green to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day (17th of March) and to bring users a bit of Irish luck. The US carrier declares the new Rumor its official mobile phone of St. Patrick's Day.

One of LG Rumor's best features is its full QWERTY keypad that offers an easy and fast way of sending text messages and emails while on the go. With the occasion of St. Patrick's Day, you can use the keypad to send messages to your friends, inviting them for a get-together in an Irish pub. Moreover, with the launch of this handset, Sprint wants to encourage users to recycle their old handsets by using the postage-paid return envelope that comes in Rumor's package. The initiative is part of the Sprint Project Connect, a wireless recycling program started back in 2002 to prevent mobile devices from ending up in dumping grounds. All profits made via Project Connect are used to support Internet safety for children, through Sprint's 4NetSafety program.
