St. Patrick's Day offer from Sprint

Sprint just announced the release of a brand new version of the popular LG Rumor, which now comes in green to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day (17th of March) and to bring users a bit of Irish luck. The US carrier declares the new Rumor its official mobile phone of St. Patrick's Day.

One of LG Rumor's best features is its full QWERTY keypad that offers an easy and fast way of sending text messages and emails while on the go. With the occasion of St. Patrick's Day, you can use the keypad to send messages to your friends, inviting them for a get-together in an Irish pub. Of course, if you're already there and you already had a few (more) beers by yourself, we suggest calling instead of typing messages, as no QWERTY keypad has support for drunk men and you could end up texting something like "Hj Mike Im beer com trink wid mi".

Anyway, let's move on with presenting the handset's features: users will get dual-band CDMA connectivity, a TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels and 262K colors, GPS to be used with Sprint Navigator, Sprint Family Locator, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, Instant messaging (Yahoo!, MSN, AOL) and microSD card support for up to 4GB of extended memory. As you can see, the Rumor is not a high-end phone, but it's still a nice device for those who don't want to spend large amounts of money when buying a handset.

The new LG Rumor is not only literally green, but also green in the environmental-friendly way, as it comes in a non-bleached, recyclable packaging that is 70% made of post-consumer waste and has an ecological aqueous finish. Moreover, with the launch of this handset, Sprint wants to encourage users to recycle their old handsets by using the postage-paid return envelope that comes in Rumor's package. The initiative is part of the Sprint Project Connect, a wireless recycling program started back in 2002 to prevent mobile devices from ending up in dumping grounds. All profits made via Project Connect are used to support Internet safety for children, through Sprint's 4NetSafety program.

To conclude, users have some other serious reasons to get the green Rumor, beside the approaching St. Patrick's Day. The phone can be bought for only $49.99 with a two-year contract agreement, after a $50 mail-in rebate and a $30 instant rebate, from Sprint's official website.
