Avanquest Software Publishing is announcing the release of Junior Brain Trainer for the Nintendo DS. The game is put together having little kids in mind and will offer them a chance to test and develop their mental capabilities at an age when stimulating logic and creativity is crucial for their future.

The game will present little interest to adults but seeing that Christmas is fast approaching, Avanquest is sure parents will be convinced to give the game as a gift to their kids. The best age to play the titles in the collection is between 6 and 11 and the company says that the younger ones  will need some help, so parents will have to stay close to them.

The developers claim that Junior Brain Trainer will develop the following skills: reading, writing, spelling, maths, geometry, logic and problem solving. The idea is to allow kids just a few tries at every puzzle a day and see how they improve their capabilities over time.

Once they solve the various challenges which the game offers, players will be able to get their hands on enjoyable mini games, like snakes, which is a remake of the classic collecting game, or ghosts, which makes children rely on their instinct and quickness of hand to catch ghosts with the stylus of the Nintendo DS.

When Nintendo made Brain Age or Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for the Nintendo DS, few thought that the genre would be a success. Nintendo created a fun and engaging experience which is still among the top selling games, so a lot of other companies have thought about copying the success of Brain Age. Avanquest’s effort is interesting because of the target group it aims at, but it could prove a success during the Christmas shopping period.
