Microsoft offers comprehensive support services for customers leveraging Windows Azure, and just to make sure that they’re aware of just what’s available, the company published a document designed to provide insight into the support channels and associated documentation for its Cloud platform. “Description of Support for the Windows Azure Platform” can be grabbed free of charge from the Microsoft Download Center.

All Windows Azure subscriptions include support, and the guidance offered by the software giant can come in handy to get access and use such services.

The document covers not only Windows Azure, but also SQL Azure, Windows Azure AppFabric and Windows Azure Data Market, according to the Redmond company.

“The Microsoft Services Support for Azure team is committed to helping subscriber organizations quickly and efficiently resolve issues that their users might encounter with the Windows Azure Platform,” the software giant revealed.

Windows Azure customers can get both technical and non-technical support from Microsoft. 24x7 global assistance is available only in English from company centers in India, Europe, and North America.

Microsoft reveals that “four Windows Azure support channels are available:

1. Self-help Support: Support documentation

2. Forums: Community support

3. Assisted Support

- Subscription Management Support. Assisted support for setup, provisioning, billing, pre-sales, and sales

- Technical Support – Service and Development Support issues: assisted support for technical issues associated with development, testing, deployment, and production on the Windows Azure platform; specialized developer resources

4. Premier Support: paid support, with dedicated support resources.”

More importantly, the document also lists a variety of categories so that customers know where to direct any questions they might have.

Microsoft provides a collection of International Support Phone Numbers for customers in all the markets where Windows Azure is available. Both toll free numbers and local number are available in the document for the 41 countries where customers can leverage Windows Azure.
