Players need to use the editor and make some small changes

The football world was recently rocked by the resignation of Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of Manchester United and by his replacement with David Moyes starting with July 1.

Fans of Football Manager 2013, the simulation that allows the player to live the life of a team leader, might also want to put the new man in charge of the Premier League championship and they can easily do that by tweaking the database they are using for the game.

Unfortunately, the process is a little more difficult than it should be.

Players need to first install and download the official Editor for FM 2013, which they can do by switching to Tools in their Steam library and then selecting the program from the list.

Gamers need to run the Editor and select the database they plan to use: the core one that shipped with the game in the fall of 2012, the 13.3.0 update that includes the winter transfers or a custom-made one.

Once the database is chosen, simply search for Manchester United, select the club and then navigate to the Coaching Staff section.

It might seem that Head Coaches cannot be changed, but simply click the tab next to the name of Alex Ferguson and search for David Moyes to replace him.

Players who want to get creative might also want to change some of the supporting staff, although no announcements have been made about them.

Now Everton is without a manager and gamers can choose to follow real life and replace him with Roberto Martinez from Wigan, which generates a cascade of changes in head coaches.

The better way is to figure out which team you plan on using in your upcoming campaign of Football Manager and simply move its coach to Everton to create a more consistent simulation universe.

Once all changes are done, be careful to save them and then approve the use of the modified files in the actual game.
