It was, one might say, inevitable that Apple would take all of these tablet competitors lying down, but it looks like tis scuffle with Samsung has not phased the latter that much, the outfit even announcing that Germany would soon get the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The past couple of days saw the clash between Samsung and Apple bear some fruit, so to speak, though later reports appear to have denied previous claims.

Basically, it was reported that Apple had managed to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned in Australia, only for Samsung to counter by saying it will still release a tablet there.

Now, an official press release on the company's part reveals that Samsung is also making progress in its efforts to get the slate to Germany.

More specifically, German hopefuls will get their product shipped over to their homes sometime this month (August 2011).

For those that want a reminder as to what the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has to offer, it is a 10.1-inch (obviously) slate based on the Tegra 2 platform.

Tegra 2 is an SoC (system-on-chip) designed by NVIDIA and which lies at the heart of various other slates out there.

The Android 3.1 version of the Honeycomb operating system is loaded onto the product, ready to download and use apps from the Android market via WiFi.

The screen has a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and, thanks to the Gorilla Glass, it is very durable.

Other specifications include stereo speakers, 1 GB of RAM (random access memory), Bluetooth 3.0 and two webcams (a 3.2 megapixel one at the back and a 2 megapixel front one). All the above lead up to the price of 569 Euro (the storage capacity is of 16 GB).

What remains is to see what price UK stores will ask for it when it reaches those shores as well (also sometimes this month).
