On Friday, I reported that the official Twitter account of Bayern Munich football player Mario Götze, which has over 376,000 followers, was hacked.

Shortly after recovering his account, the 21-year-old, who according to Goal.com will make his Bayern debut today, has posted a short statement on Facebook to confirm the breach.

“Hi guys, today my Twitter Account got hacked. All Postings and Tweets have been completely nonsense!!! From now on it's me personally who is active again. Mario,” Götze wrote in both English and German.

The “nonsense” tweets the German footballer is referring to praised Marouane Chamakh, a Moroccan footballer playing for Crystal Palace.

“Chamakh is god,” the attacker wrote.

In addition, the hacker also changed Götze’s Twitter profile description to read “Full time traitor. Chamakh is king.”
