While blasting Windows 8 and poking fun at the Start button is more like a trend these days, there are some people out there who believe that Microsoft’s modern platform has huge potential.

German financial firm FinanceTec, for example, thinks that more people will eventually make the move to Windows 8, so it decided to purchase Samsung ATIV Tab 7 tablets for its staff.

The company, which makes software for financial advisers, says that Windows 8 has the potential to compete with Android and iOS, so laptops running the new OS could become a lot more popular soon.

“The laptop forms a wall between financial advisers and their customers, which does not foster the kind of trust and transparency necessary for an investment adviser relationship,” says Harald Dehn, CEO at FinanceTec, according to TabTimes. “Financial advisers want to run our product on a computer that is not so intrusive, that promotes trust and information sharing with customers.”

What’s more, FinanceTec expects 30 percent of its customers to move to Windows 8 Pro in the next year, which should also contribute to a boost in the market share of Microsoft’s latest OS version.
