Independent software developer Christian Kienle has coded a much-needed Mac app that offers a simple, yet very useful feature - displays the latest deals on Mac apps passing through Apple’s net every day.

Christian Kienle is a software developer based in Philippsburg, Germany.

Founded in 2005, the current focus of Kienle's work is creating software for people who want to learn new things more efficiently.

Some may know the guy as being the developer of Core Data Editor and Ebbinghaus.

Kienle claims that his Store News app provides the quickest way to find out the best deals in the Mac App Store.

“An app that cost real money yesterday could be totally free today,” Kienle explains.

“In order to find the best deals for you we look at every app listed in the Mac App Store every day,” Kienle adds. “As soon its price drops it will become visible in Store News. So check Store News daily in order to get the most out of it.”

Store News 1.0 is a free download and offers the following key benefits, according to the developer:

Features:  - shows the best deals in the Mac App Store  - comes with an easy to use interface  - shows both apps that are totally free and apps that still cost a little bit of money  - share what you have found via Store News with your Twitter followers  - delivers the best deals twice a day  - free to download and use.

Unfortunately for iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad users, an iOS-centric version of the app is not available.

In fact, there’s a good chance Store News iOS would have been twice as popular with Apple fans, but we’re sure Kienle has this project lined up as well.

Those who’ve embraced the newly launched Mac App Store are encouraged to give Store News a spin and see how it works for them. The app requires Mac OS X 10.6.
