23-year-old Carolin Berger, also known simply as Cora, a well known German adult star and contestant on the local version of Big Brother a while back, has died after a botched surgical intervention on her chest.
The
Daily Mail informs, citing reports in the local media, that Cora was put into an induced coma after she was deprived of oxygen for 15 minutes during the augmentation procedure.
Apparently, the star wanted to have her sixth augmentation, which would have taken her from a 34F cup to a 34G. Complications arose shortly after and her condition deteriorated immediately.
“The clinic in Germany where she had the enhancement is now being investigated. Her family were called to the hospital where they were told that Cora had been without oxygen during the op for 15 minutes and was in ‘serious condition’,” the Mail writes.
From what the British publication says, it was during the surgical procedure that Cora was deprived of oxygen, but her condition worsened only afterwards.
Earlier this month, she was put into an induced coma but she never woke from it. She died the other day – and now her family wants the people responsible for her death to pay.
“There were serious complications in her latest operation and Cora was put in an artificial coma on 11 January, which took place at a clinic in the north German city of Hamburg,” the Mail says.
Several German tabloids have reported Cora’s death almost immediately. An investigation is now being conducted at the clinic where the intervention was performed to determine whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
“Prosecutors have announced they are investigating the 54-year-old anesthesiologist and the 49-year-old surgeon who performed the operation at the Alster Clinic, in Hamburg, on suspicion of negligent homicide,” says the Mail.
Cora is not the first celebrity to die after a botched surgical intervention: in December 2009, for instance, a former Miss Argentina also passed away after she went under the knife for backside implants, as we also
informed you at the time.
