14 DAY TRIAL // With a show like NBC’s The Voice, there’s always some sort of flirting and / or teasing between the judges. Even if they don’t feel like doing it, they’re probably told to because it adds a bit more drama and tension to an already exciting show.
Be that as it may, but Gerard Pique is sick of seeing Adam Levine hitting on his girlfriend and babymama Shakira, claims a new report in the print issue of Star magazine (story via CB).
“Shakira’s hips don’t lie, and her boyfriend is starting to notice! The Colombian-born singer, 37, has become very flirty with her fellow The Voice coach Adam Levine, and her partner of four years, Gerard Pique, is furious,” the report says.
“Adam is always touching Shakira. Gerard is livid,” an insider says. The fact that Adam is seated next to Shakira on the panel doesn’t help matters at all: on the contrary, it facilitates him touching her at all times.
To Gerard’s disappointment, Shakira too is flirting right back. Insiders insist that the soccer star is determined to “keep an eye” on Adam and the way he behaves around the Colombian singer, lest this turns into something else.
We’ll probably never know if there’s any truth to the story but, even so, it does fall in line with a picture of the relationship Shakira herself painted, thanks to a series of recent comments in press interviews. And it’s not doing Gerard any favors.
For instance, she told the papers that Gerard had literally “banned” her from shooting music videos with men because he was bothered by the thought of having another man “grazing her thigh” with his fingers. Shakira found this amusing, and even proudly pronounced her man very “territorial” and right in standing up to defend what was his.
In her next interview, she said that he had instructed her to “shut her little mouth” about him in her promo appearances because he didn’t like the things she was saying about him. Either Shakira worded this very badly or Gerard really does run the household with an iron fist.
In yet another interview, in which the singer tried to do some damage control, she shrugged off all talk of being in a controlling relationship by saying that this is the way they were and had always been: “one of those asphyxiating couples.” Nothing to see here people, move along.
