On a recent flight from Paris to Dublin, legendary actor Gerard Depardieu proved he’d forgotten his manners at home when he relieved himself in the aisle of the plane after being told he had to wait for another 15 minutes before he could use the toilet.

A rep for the actor was not available for comment at the time this got out, but several reports and a publicist for the airline on whose plane the incident happened, confirm it.

People magazine says that Depardieu was on a CityJet flight that was held up two hours. At one point after boarding, the actor told a flight attendant that he needed to use the toilet.

Since the plane had not taken off just yet, she told him he’d have to wait a quarter of an hour more but, by the looks of things, it proved too much for the thespian.

“The Golden Globe winner, 62, was on a CityJet flight from Paris to Dublin that was delayed on the tarmac when he asked to use the bathroom. After being told he had to wait until takeoff, he reportedly relieved himself in the aisle,” People writes.

A rep for the company confirmed the report, saying only, “I will only confirm that he, in effect, urinated in the plane.”

As if that wasn’t enough to make Depardieu the laughing stock of the entire blogosphere, on the official Twitter page, the airline company cracked a few inoffensive jokes about the incident.

“As you may have seen on the news, we are busy mopping the floor of one of our planes this morning. We’d also like to remind all passengers that our planes are fully equipped with toilet facilities,” the company said.

It was probably referring to the fact that, after Depardieu’s mishap, the plane had to be kept on the ground for another two hours while cleaning crews took care of the mess in the cabin.

As noted above, the actor is keeping mum on the topic. Similarly, the airline company has made no mention on whether it plans to take action against him.
