14 DAY TRIAL // Late last year, female moviegoers had the scare of a lifetime when news broke that Gerard Butler had been involved in a very serious surfing accident and had been rushed to the hospital. The video above includes footage from it.
Butler is now promoting the film on whose set he was injured, in which he plays an older surfer who mentors a younger man, “Chasing Mavericks.”
He stopped by Good Morning America to talk about it and, for the first time ever, show footage from the accident. It was pretty major, believe you me.
Not even he can believe all that was real, as he says laughing. A huge wave came over him, knocking the board from under him and, as I also noted at the time, pushing him towards some rocks.
Eventually, Gerard was rescued from the water and he recovered quickly, coming back to work as a true pro. All female fans must be breathing a sigh of relief now.
